Housing Investors Face a Tough Market What to Know in 2026

Real estate investors are facing a very different market in 2026. Higher financing costs, expensive properties, rising insurance premiums and slower rent growth are making it harder to find deals that produce strong returns. And investor confidence is showing it. In the latest survey of more than 300 rental and fix-and-flip investors, only 26% said market conditions were better than a year ago, while 45% said conditions had gotten worse.
